Translation project manager (FR>EN)

Lucilab is seeking a FR > EN translation project manager with experience in scientific popularization and a strong interest in the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.

In this cross-functional position, the selected individual will be responsible for managing the translation, revision, integration, and indexing of various content, as well as contributing to the development of a long-term bilingual content strategy. They will work closely with internal team members and external partners on a daily basis.

General responsibilities

  1. Compile translation requirements from internal teams (Research & Intervention, Marketing, and Product) and effectively manage the translation process with the external company and graphic designer.
  2. Translate various French content into English on demand, making sure to consider cultural adaptation requirements and to use reliable external English-language resources.
  3. Carry out the revision and quality control of externally translated English texts.
  4. Manage and index documents in our translation tool and create terminology records to ensure consistency and uniformity.
  5. Manage documents and integrate translated content into content management systems (CMS).
  6. Contribute to the development of a bilingual content strategy for use across Canada.
  7. Participate in content evaluation activities (relevance, usage, and benefits) and integrate the findings to support continuous improvement.

Required skills, experience, and qualifications*

*Any other relevant combination of skills, education, and experience will also be considered.
  • University education in translation, writing, journalism, or communication
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in translation and revision (FR > EN) in the fields of health or science
  • Perfect command of written French and English
  • Solid knowledge of translation tools
  • Proven project management skills
  • Good sense of organization and priorities, spirit of initiative, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience writing or translating content for a pan-Canadian audience (asset)
  • Experience working with a content management system (CMS) (asset)
  • Accredited or in the process of becoming accredited with OTTIAQ or another professional association (asset)
